About our Child Care & Preschool Center in Columbus
I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. I am so excited to be a part of the Childcare Network family! I am looking forward to a very productive and exciting year at #219. My name is Anita Hughes and I graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS degree in Early Childhood Education. I have experience in all classrooms including infants, toddlers, preschool private pre-k, private kindergarten, school age, summer camp and head start. I have also been a curriculum coordinator and a Head Start center manager. I grew up in Pittsview, Alabama. I graduated from Russell County High School in Seale, Alabama. I moved to Tuscaloosa to attend UA. I began teaching in North Atlanta when I graduated, then moved back to Tuscaloosa until this past October. I’ve been back in the area since the beginning of November, and all I can say is, “There’s no place like home”. All of my children attended school at an early age. They attended school where I was working, so they have accompanied me on my journey as I carried different childcare positions at different childcare centers. Although I am new to Childcare Network, I am enjoying the company, staff and families. As a director at Childcare Network #219, it will be my mission to make sure that the time your child spends with us is safe and they are enjoying our wonderful learning environment. I want families to know that their children are developing at their own pace, and that we have caring teachers that help children reach their maximum potential through play and fun. I want parents to know that one of my primary goals for the children at Childcare Network #219 will be to foster an environment where each child can challenge themselves and achieve to create a positive environment of learning and fun, while living up to the promise of truly being the “The Working Parent’s Best Friend”. I look forward to spreading joy every day at #219. Whether it be happy students or happy staff, I look forward to seeing a slew of smiles walk through the front door each and every morning; hearts filled with the desire to be here, to be successful, and to have pride in what they are accomplishing. Please do not wait for formal conferences to discuss any concerns you have with me. My door is always open!
