About our Child Care & Preschool Center in Edmond
Welcome to our school in Edmond, OK! My name is Spencer Reed and I am the Director of Childcare Network #199. I have worked with children for over 17 years and served our country in the Army for six years. I have taught in all classrooms from toddlers to school age children. I have enjoyed working in all positions including Assistant Director and now, Director. I am a hands-on director and like to use my wealth of experience to continue to enhance our school.
Here at Childcare Network #199 we are not just a daycare. We pride ourselves in being a child development center offering curriculum starting with our infants and continuing all the way through our Young Achiever program. The majority of our learning is through hands on play. When you come into our program and see two four-year-olds work together to set up a dollhouse, they are learning language about family, relationships, and furniture. They are learning different perspectives about how to organize things, planting the seeds for critical thinking, or knowing how to think from different perspectives.
A teacher's role here at CNI #199 during children's play is to watch and provide language to help children describe what they are experiencing. Teachers also provide safe settings with many opportunities for different kinds of play. They observe and notice what kinds of play their students gravitate towards, and they work on ways to expand learning in these areas.
I want parents to know that my main goal for the children at Childcare Network #199 is to foster an environment where each child can challenge themselves and achieve. I want them to learn that it’s safe to try anything, that it’s okay if they fail, and that there is always an opportunity to try again.
I would love to show you around our school, have you meet our great staff, and learn about our curriculum. Please feel free to stop by or schedule a tour with us. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
